Video Marketing on YouTube

This is the basic tutorial on how to start marketing your niche on YouTube.

YouTube Video Marketing Basic Tutorial from Bans Revolution on Vimeo.I have been playing around with Youtube for the past 2 years like most users but more so in the last year or so when I started to see for myself the marketing potential. Being in the top 3 most visited sites in the world, it's hard not to come to that conclusion.

As some may know, I've had a good amount of success in 2007 where I had one of my videos be in the top 100 most viewed of the year. I sold thousands of products attached to that video as it became viral very quickly.

The idea is simple.

- Try and come up with an original idea that can be related to your niche. - Shoot, edit or do whatever you need to to have something presentable. - Upload it on YouTube. - Add your keywords to the video tags as well as your video description. - Link back to your site inside your description (URL) and you can also up the video on a store link.

That works if you can be creative and find something that can be viral but what if you can't. There is always a good way to create some linkjuice with YouTube still. I just created a new username that I will use only for BANS related videos and I have posted my first one.

I will divulge one of my test stores as it already brings enough traffic without me caring too much for it. The niche is "Cigars and Cigar Accessories".

The goal was to create an informercial of some sort with pictures and music. I could have used simple pictures of cigars (that would have been the high road) but I chose women smoking cigars instead. I figured my target clientele male so it wouldn't hurt.

Here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWA34PZ3nJ0
I expect to pull in roughly 2000 views in the first week. From that number, I would say 20 to 40 visitors just to be conservative. It's not amazing ratio but it still 40 visitors I didn't have before the video, right? Exactly!

UPDATE: I'm already at 1000 views after one single day. Pretty insane :) Also remember one thing, Google loves YouTube so it puts you in the good books right away

P.S. A small tip before I go: Try and have the poster of your video be something enticing, clickable... the way YouTube decides which image to keep as your poster image, is that they cut your video perfectly in half and take that image. Basically what you need to is figure out how long your video is, split it in half and put in the image you want at the right moment. Try to be creative or else it looks like you tried to hard.

Have fun guys and gals,

New Free Scripts To Help your BANS

Picture 3.jpgThese next set of tools are great for any site that wants capture the interest of your visitors and keep them coming back when they want to leave. I would not use all of them and some of your stores won't need any but it is interesting to experiment with those and try various techniques to pull the customers closer to bidding on your auctions.

Some of you will never want top use pop-ups and I do understand you but some pop up scripts are really interesting and give a nifty way to add information to the visitor. As an example, some sites might want to alert their visitors of a special discount or a special feature section. You can also have a confirmation pop-up when a visitors has filled out a form.

Used wisely and with taste, these scripts can give an extra boost to some of your stores that are not performing well enough and losing surfers too quickly. Just enter the info that is needed, adjust the options and copy and paste the code on your website.

TRY THESE SCRIPTS FOR FREE RIGHT HERE

Please leave your comments and example of how you applied these scripts on your BANS sites.

Typepad Step By Step Tutorial

To all of my customers who have ordered the complete BANS set-up and need to know how to manage their Typepad Blog, here is a step by step video tutorial of the basics.

Untitled from Bans Revolution on Vimeo.

The most important thing to remember when posting on your blog is to use the Keyword Efficiency Index that I provide to you. Try to use the highest ranked keywords for your niche throughout your blog post and start and end your post with a small link back to your store.

Here's an example of a way to apply this concept.

Another piece of advice is to concentrate one afternoon a month to writing or finding original content for your blog and posting it all at the same time. You simply need to schedule the release of the blog posts. For example, try and write 15 posts at the beginning of each month and schedule their release every two days. Search Engines love updated sites and well kept content so get on it and start blogging.

If you have any questions, as always, email me or leave a comment below.

I'm very excited to showing everyone what I've been doing these past months. I hope I get comments, questions and perhaps critiques on my work. I will be back with some examples and links to stores.

If you would like to be showcased and have a linkback on this blog, let me know by commenting below.

Thank you guys.

Higher Prices on BansDesign.com

Picture 2.jpg

This is a quick post to let everyone know that I'm accepting new BANS Set-Up orders. I have gotten a lot of customers asking for it in the past few days and I'm now ready. I'm finishing little touch-ups on some sites + creating the ads on USFreeAds but my time has considerably freed up.

As most of you have noticed, my prices have changed and are now higher. The simple reason is the amount of services you get and the time it takes. Nothing is automated, everything is done by hand (except the keyword research which is done by software running overnight competition research).

I rather work on fewer sites but focus on them completely. I hope I have the pleasure in working with you in the near future. Email me directly if you need to view more examples of my work. - insaneseb (at) gmail.com

Getting On Top Of Things!

Alright. After a full week of trying to get a hold of backed up orders, I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I used to think that outsourcing would be the best thing for me but I quickly learned how much of a headache it actually was. I appreciate all the work bmehmet did for me in the past weeks and thought his work was of very high quality. I don't know of any issues some of his customers have had in terms of service (we all go through something sometimes) but despite receiving my orders a little later than I would have preferred, he still came up with great templates.
Now, looking into the future I see this:

- A faster turn around for my own customers
- No more outsourcing what so ever
- Higher prices due to the extensive keyword research and report I provide along with the design and full set-up
- A limit of sites I will work on at one time

Customer service to me is very important and I will make sure my clients are satisfied with the work I provide as well as giving a great product they won't have to tinker with.
I'm off to working on some more sites. You can always order directly from BansDesign.com and send me an email to see what i can do for you (for bulk orders).

Thank you.

The Problem with Service

As a service oriented person, I take it very seriously. I've been offering great deals to BANS users and other sites for a number of years now but have seen my personal life and my professional converge into an oblivion of work and "quasi-quarter" life crisis (yes I'm 31 and yes I will live up to 90).

I've had to resort to outsourcing some of the projects customers were sending my way, and, in doing so paid, got scammed and waited much too long for results. My BANS stores make me enough money to not have to offer these services but I still do because I enjoy the work.

I've lost countless hours (if not days) worrying about what to do to deliver everything on my plate in time. I couldn't come up with a good enough way and bite my tongue while I waited for "employees" to send me updates.

On top of that, some of you know of the ongoing family problems (sickness) I'm having to deal with. Although I'm not trying to find a scapegoat at all, I feel the need to explain myself.

I understand the frustration some of my customers are feeling. Some have waited much too long to see their sites updated or headers sent to them. I apologize. I will get to all of the orders (in order). I promise. At this point, I even have lost money through this whole process and although it sucks for me, I won't try to find pity in it. I will work harder to bring my name back up to where it was.

As for the raise in my services, I rather have fewer customers and more time per project. Also, with the added knowledge of BANS I've acquired and many expensive softwares for SEO I now use, I feel that my prices are still are a great deal.

New customers can expect a delay in delivery time so I would recommend you check back on this blog to find out when all my old orders are fulfilled and then purchase new services through BANSDESIGN The only offer that is still very quick is the 10 article package. I usually can deliver it within 5 days, depending on the bulk order.

Again, I apologize and cannot wait till everyone is happy with their orders. Very soon... I'm pressuring everyone under me and fighting through it.

Thanks for reading.

Domains + Niches = BANS success

Picture 3.jpg BANS is only rewarding once you get the hang of buying the right domain names and associating those with the appropriate niches. Seems simple at first but when you look at the various niches and understand that not all of them are profitable business for you.

DARKTANSHOP.com
Recently, while walking in a crowded mall, I discovered a little shop that sold fake tanning lotions. These things were extremely popular and sold better than most cupcakes. I walked in and saw that in the back they even had solar lamps, heating accessories and tanning beds for personal home use. I jotted down the idea and came running to my computer to see if eBay would carry that kind of product.

Luckily eBay was already filled with product ideas and the niche was born.

CHOOSING THE DOMAIN
I purchase all my domains through GoDaddy because they offer great prices and an easy and different shopping experience. I usually try to make the domain name fit with my niche. For example, DarkTanShop.com, which I bought a few weeks ago, states exactly what I want it to be: a tanning shop. In it, I redirect customers towards amazing deals on tanning beds, tanning lotions, self tanners, tanning heat lamps, light bulbs for tanning beds, etc.
I usually like it when the domain has at least 1 very good keyword (in this case TAN) and I try to make the whole domain have a ring to it.

IF YOU BUILD IT THEY WILL COME
Once the domain is added, the sitemap created and Google, MSN and Yahoo alerted, I'll create some usfreeads, as well as articles for content on the store pages. The real key is to add some good keywords inside your admin pages and the right title (remember, not to long) to each and every page.

Where in my Mac is this Hidden File?

medium.jpg Many BANS users are using Apple computers from home to work on their ventures and the learning curb might be a little steeper when using your Build A Niche Store.

The number one question coming from the Mac community is: "Where can I find my .htaccess file?"

The file is there, inside your BANS folder but because you're on a Mac, it is invisible. Any file or directory that begins with a period will be considered invisible by the Finder on the Mac. This behavior is inherited from Unix. You can set your Finder to view all invisible files all the time by using TinkerTool. With TinkerTool activated, you will not only be able to view hidden files but change the aspect and functions of various things on your Mac.

If you want to go the simple route, simply download the htaccess.txt file here and follow the instruction in the install video tutorial here.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Widgets & BANS

One of the easiest ways to get traffic going to your site, if you have the patience and an idea, is to create your own widgets. Widgets were introduced with the whole web 2.0 craze and rapidly became popular because of their fast turn around for creators and manageability for its users.

The whole concept is fairly easy. Create an easy insertable web application for users to manage onto their own websites. Those applications can be anywhere from a nifty little calendar for your favorite TV shows, a photo album connected to a Flickr account or a news aggregator on a particular subject or niche. The sky is the limit.

The way you get traffic with a widget is simple. You host the service on your server and let users plaster their pages with your creation. The viral effect can spread like wild fire with a popular niche. Let's say you create a widget where users can have a nice updatable box with their latest uploaded pictures from their Facebook account. You could design a clean box with your BANS store URL displayed on the bottom right. Whenever users and their visitors see the pictures and access the sites where your widget is posted on, they also see your BANS store on, let's say, discounted digital cameras. Pretty nice uh?

The power behind widgets is that the marketing is almost generated by itself. Users wanting to incorporate the widget on their own page can do so directly from within the page they are visiting. No need to access your page directly hence the more widgets scattered around the web, the more eye balls on it and the more potential users. Therein lies the viral effect in action. If your idea is a popular one and even if it's already been done before (just make sure you add to the idea with new unique features), surfers will want to add that widget to their own pages.

Bloggers will be your main target audience. They are always looking for new features to add to their blogs and easy ways to have automatic updatable content. Depending on your niche you could target Myspace and Facebook users who want cool, trendy looking add-ons to their profiles. I've created many widgets in the past and have posted them in various places on the web for users to find and believe they look for new ones every day and add them furiously to their sites making your back-links grow. In one instance, I had a blog about Apple computers and created a nice looking widget for Apple fans to get their latest news on the company and a countdown for the next Macworld convention. I submitted the widget to Apple and they immediately posted it on their website. My little widget was downloaded more than 50,000 times and was used on blogs, personal websites, Myspace pages and Facebook accounts. Every single time the widget was viewed, it had a stamp with one of my niche oriented BANS stores on it. I don't have to tell you that my traffic spiked right away.

BANS users should definitely consider this avenue in generating leads since the widgets users can become great assets. It's very important to realize that free offers are sometimes more important than selling products like e-books or conventional apps. Everyone wants to use something that is free. Most of the time people are not aware that you can really generate revenue by offering something that is completely free with no catch at all. It's all about putting your name out there, or in this case your BANS site.

Where to Display Adsense?

Deciding where to place your Google ads on your web pages so that they will be most profitable is one of the best parts of the whole Google Adsense experience. No one else gets to make this decision except you. It's your site. You get to decide how many ( up to 3 ads per page), what colors and shapes you will use and on what part of the page the ad will be placed. Should you place your ads at the top or bottom? In the middle of the text? To the left or right?

The most important decision should be based on the needs of the visitors to your site? What are they looking for? Are they there to buy big ticket items or merely to browse through a selection of cheap articles. If they are there to read an entire article in one of your content pages, say, you might try placing your ads at the bottom of the page so they will have something to do next. Some publishers swear by placing the ads at the top left of the page because they think customers look there first. I don't like placing ads on top because it seems your fishing for clicks but some stores do it very well.

The fun thing is experimenting with all the possibilities. Try different ad locations and different colors for a week and note the differences in your reports. When you hit on something successful, you'll see the difference. For a reliable starting point, review what Google says are the areas that attract the most clicks.

Three Free Traffic Tips

Are you constantly banging your head in frustration on not receiving all the internet traffic you would like to get to your web site? Are you tormented from information overload listening to all the latest free website traffic tactics and not being able to understand any of it? Are you dejected of people trying day and night to harassing you to max out your credit card and get loans for Google clicks, and in the process loose your credit score? Are you stupefied by the way your website just dropped out of the Google search results? Or are you just too broke and all you have to rely on is getting some free website traffic tactics?

You can employ website traffic tactics without spending dime. However, knowing how is the real deal. Here's the score:

1. Link it

Of all the effective website traffic tactics that can get you best results, linking to and from other websites is the one of the most widely-used method. Just make sure that the Internet business you are exchanging links with is relatively if not utterly related to your own business. And of course, don't overkill as this might ban you from search engines.

2. Meet Meta Tags

Another way of to acquire your desired traffic for your website is through having your Meta tags contain usually used keywords that target your business. Meta tags help search engines in describing your web page. If you're quite adept with the HTML aspect of your web pages, manipulating your meta tags would be a breeze.

3. Keyword-rich AND sensible content

Writing or acquiring articles that provide solid information regarding your business is one of the best ways. Making use of free keyword suggestion tools such as Overture will help you on which keyword or phrases to work on to better lead more traffic to your website. Making these write-ups very readable and genuinely informative will make you many repeat visitors to subsequently become repeat clients.

Submitting these articles to various article directory listings will provide more visibility for your business as long as you keep your resource box in tact to create for yourself numerous back links.

These methods, if employed properly, will not only make your web site popular but will make you achieve your most desirable result - higher conversion rate.

SEO Sitemaps, BANS & You

A lot of BANS pages will find an SEO sitemap useful in improving their performance. SEO stands for "Search Engine Optimization", the process that aims to create or revise Internet sites so that it can be better found by search engines. The objective of SEO campaigns is to have websites appear in the top listing or first results page of search engines.

Internet search engines, such as Google, maintain a very large database of Web pages and available files. To do this, they devise a program called a web crawler, or spider. This software automatically and continuously surfs and hunts content in the Web. Pages that the spider finds are retrieved and indexed according to text content, giving more weight to titles and paragraph headers. Spiders never stop navigating the web from page to page, to index the relevant content of the Internet. Besides looking at the text of titles and headers, some programs are able to identify default tags and keep a library of these page keywords or key phrases in the index.

When a user connects to the Internet types a query, which is automatically interpreted as keywords, the search engine scans the saved index and creates a list of web pages that is most appropriate to what the user is searching for.

SEO will use all the combined techniques of keyword analysis, smart code, good content literature, link popularity study and website organization to place the subject web page as high as possible in the list of search results in search engines. Web pages displayed on the top of results pages are assumed to get the most attention, and therefore, opportunity for earnings for web businesses and pages with sponsor links.

Search engines usually return a list of results ranking pages according to the number of Internet sites linked to them. Results can be classified as organic, or sponsored links. Sponsored links are shown prominently because their creators or agents paid the search engine. Sponsored links are the main source of income of search engines. Organic search results are the lists of actual results from the engines index and are directly related to the keyword typed in the request.

One of the more effective techniques of SEO is the creation of a well-organized site map in a website. Since the site's main page and other content are directly linked to a site map, spiders can more easily move through the website, identify the key words of the content, and index these for a search engine. This is where the SEO sitemap helps the website creator or administrator.

Site maps are usually pages filled with links. These are shown as tables or lists, although lists are generally more effective. Writing code for SEO sitemaps is very easy and simple to format and maintain. These are ideally basic HTML pages with default tags, logical titles and keywords scattered in the Meta description. Introduction areas can contain more of the keywords. The site should have a main heading for every directory.

A simple list layout helps reduce unnecessary tags that might ìhideî your keywords. Some spiders give more weight to the following, than text in the normal body of the webpage: heading text, content within link elements, text nearer the top of the page and the text written for a link. Therefore, writing the keywords and links in these areas could somehow move up the web pageís ranking. This goes for SEO sitemaps as well.

Web sites should be designed consistently, so navigation models should follow the flow of the site map. Therefore, the first section in the site map should be the first link in the navigation bar.

In an SEO Sitemap, and most pages, the headings contain title attributes where more key phrases in the site map can be added. Keywords are generally well chosen and written in the body of a webpage. However, in an SEO site map with little text, key words should be added as much as possible. As much as possible, web links should follow web page titles, and must undergo SEO during coding. Care must be exercised not to cram the page with keywords and links, or the page will be interpreted as blatant spamming and not receive any traffic at all.

There is no way to guarantee that a website will be shown in the topmost ranking of "organic" search results for an extended period of time. However, smart and responsible SEO sitemap techniques can be used to place the website high up in the search position. Regular monitoring and adjustment of the SEO Sitemap and search results would ensure that a website is kept near the top ranking and receiving lots of web user traffic.
